Return of the Bigfoo!

So Howdy ya'll, it's been quite a while since i last posted on here. Life, as we all know it to be, has been keeping me on a twisting and turning track, something new around each corner. I've continued to work on my, playing with different mediums and just figuring where i want to go next. Still working on the I, Undead comic to some extent, just want to make it the best i can before we roll out. The most exciting news so far is this last weekend we had 24 HOUR COMIC DAY! For the 3rd year in a row I have participated in this event, where each artist has to pencil, ink, and letter a 24 page comic in 24 straight hours. Possibly one of the hardest endurance tests I've ever had the pleasure to endure. I chose to create my comic on a children's book/ graphic novel that I've been toying with for the last year. Thanks to everyone that came out and created comics and to all those that came out in support, it was amazing to see people come out and just find out what were doing. Hopefully next year we'll have an even bigger turnout. Next year I'm going to be running the event, still at the comic shop, still just as awesome, if not more awesomer!.....bad grammar, but hey it's my blog.

The plan is for now to do at least one blog a month, mostly updates. and when i have new work on here i'll be posting that as well. And be sure to tune in because in April I will be having my first solo show since I graduated from UAF! It will be at Chartreuse, next door to Big Daddy's BBQ. I'll keep you posted if you keep on reading, thanks all!

R.I.P Mr Frazetta 1928-2010

http://artsbeat.blogs.nytimes.com/2010/05/10/frank-frazetta-fantasy-illustrator-dies-at-82/?src=mv

today the world lost an amazing artist, an artist who revolutionized fantasy, sci-fi and barbarians, The one and only Mr. Frank Frazetta.

From his works on Conan to his amazing creatures and scenes, the work that he created brought a new aspiration for up and coming artists across the globe. His works set a standard that very few have ever been able to meet, but many hope to accomplish. So thank you Mr. Frazetta for setting the bar for me and so many others. thank you so much. R.I.P.

Just a few sketches...

So here is a sample piece that i want to do for a painting or large watercolor. i used sketchbook pro to create this piece, which was definatly a new experience, it makes it a lot easier to get the idea out and i dont have as much clean up haha. anyway, a new larger piece will show up on here soon.

Test Run!

So for Christmas I received one of the best gifts I've ever gotten, a intuos wacom Tablet! I've never used one before, so using this technology is very foreign to me (especially since i am amazingly computer illiterate). I've been practicing quite a bit with it, especially since i want to use it to create my children's books with it. So to start off with my first official piece on it, I chose to do a art trade that I kinda started back in February with my friend Anna. She had sent out a mass e-mail to all of her art friends saying that she would do an art trade with her friends, she would do a pic of the artist and they would do a drawing of her. so finally i got around to doing it and so without further or due....

TA DA!!!
I hope ya'll like it, their will be more along the way!

NEW BOOK! oh and other stuff...

Hey ya'll,

Sorry I haven't been around for a few months, the lack of internet and a scanner or camera will do that to you, but I'm back half way and man, things have been busy for me, Let's recap, shall we?

since july......

I got a job at home depot working night's.

My girlfriend started her Master's of Education Program at the University of Alaska Fairbanks.

I have have been working on a Zombie Comic with the awesome Keith Clinansmith, which im still working on, but am dang close to being done with the first issue, if you wanna read the story, you can go to- http://iundeadbook2jawless.blogspot.com

Had my 2 year anniversary with the woman whom i love more than anything (even art, crazy i know?)

Started work on another comic with a good friend of mine, it's all very hush hush, mum's the word at the moment

Was FINALLY hired to work for TSA ( Transportation Security Information) just so i can actually pay for everything while i strive to become an illustrator.

My Girlfriend's Birthday! we chilled, it was nice.

My friend Kim had her BFA Show this semester, it rocked and the Student Art Show up at the U was amazing!! Makes me sad that I'm not a student anymore....

Had Christmas where I revealed My NEW ART BOOK! Yes Folks, I do indeed have a new artbook filled with all the work that I had completed through out my BFA Career, If Interested in purchasing one, their is a link on this very website that can direct you to the bookstore where I am currently selling them. If you are a friend of mine on Facebook, I sent out a link earlier this week but please don't hesitate to e-mail me about it if interested

and since started working for TSA, I have come up with four children's Stories that I am currently in the works of developing.

And sadly, my beautiful truck passed away on me a month ago.....She will be missed, that truck saved my neck more time's than i can count and their is no way I can thank her. But for me to get to work, I went out and actually bought myself a NEW CAR!! it's one of those New Scion XD's, its sleek, great on gas and runs really nice, so for now, that's gonna help out a great deal.

That's all for me at the moment, I was planning on going to the Emerald City Comicon and set up a booth this year, but sadly, because of a bunch of different things happening all at once, I wont be able to, but seeing how it would have been my first con, i think I should experience one first as a participant as opposed to an artist, so hopefully my friend alfred and I can go to the San Diego Comicon this year, I really want to experience one since this is what i want to get into, so we'll see, As always thanks for tuning it, and I'm going to have some new work up here in the next few days finally,so keep watching!!
